S/S International Agricultural Research’s
primary farm research center is located on 1100 acres in
central Ohio, an area representative of the most productive
and agriculturally intensive region of the United States.
The soil profile is predominately a silt clay loam in texture
with 2.5-3.0% organic matter.
S/S
International Agricultural Research has networks and research
linkages to other private research services and to all major
agricultural university research centers, assuring that
all testing program operate under ideal conditions in appropriate
agricultural environments throughout the United States.
The
Ohio farm research center is divided in specific areas for
each type of evaluation—row crop sites where various pest
pressures are encouraged for pesticide evaluations; forage
crop areas; field screen sites where specific pests are
introduced to determine activity and crop residue/environmental
fate sites for single or multiple-year studies; variety
evaluations with minimal pest pressure.
On-site
support facilities provide full compliance with all current
Good Laboratory Practices, and Good Field Practice Standards
and Regulations. These facilities also include: all John
Deere farm equipment; formulation and preparation laboratory;
controlled chemical storage; controlled freezer storage;
record storage vault; clean sample supply room; communications
(facsimile, 24 hour telephone monitoring); data transfer
modem; computer systems (electronic data capture, reporting,
statistical analysis), on-site meteorological monitoring
(precipitation, continuous air and soil temperatures, wind
speed and direction, relative humidity and solar radiation),
fully operational irrigation systems, maintenance shop and
equipment storage.
